Metallic Rod

Metallic Rod:

A rod is a central shaft for a rotating wheel. In some cases the rod may be fixed in position with a bearing or bushing sitting inside the hole in the wheel to allow the wheel to rotate around the rod. In other cases the wheel may be fixed to the rod, with bearings or bushings provided at the mounting points where the rod is supported.

There are different styles of using a metallic rod like a lightning rod (AUS) or lightning conductor (UK) is a steel rod or conductor climbed on peak of a building and electrically attached to the ground through a wire, to protect the building in the happening of lightning. If lightning hits the construction it will preferentially hit the rod, and be conducted harmlessly to ground through the wire, rather than of transient through the construction, where it could start a fire or origin electrocution. Like a measuring rod, fishing rod and many other.
